Footprints--

footprints.

by Margaret Fishback Powers. [This is one of my favorite poems.]
Footprints-
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
There was only one set of footprints.
I realized that this was at the lowest
and saddest times of my life.
This always bothered me
and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.
I just don't understand why when I needed You most, You leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Never Give Up!!!

Well, another week came and gone. This past week was pretty mellow, nothing major worth blogging about. The only thing I can remember thats way too cool to let it pass up, was that I am getting use to longboarding now, its like the evolution chart you know for awhile you've been bodyboarding prone and all of a sudden you've developed a back bone and start standing up-right. [its awesome] I can almost always paddle for a wave, standing is cool, I can stand without a problem, at times I take my spills but turning I need a little bit more practice but it will come. I was sooooo frustrated before,but its good to see progress, hardwork and determination paying off, anyways in a nutshell I left the beach with a smile on face feeling that I've accomplished something. Also a word that has been stuck on my mind for awhile [Katy? Catey? Catie? Katie? Katey? K-T, Kaytey, Cay-T, darn-it which is it]...-Aloha. ;-)

[IF]

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Hiking part II

My shoes @ the end of Hike.

Well, went to another hike this pass Saturday with AP and we were joined by Carlos. We went to the Manoa Falls again, but this time we took the Aihualama trail that loops into Pauoa Flats that takes you all the way to the top of the mountain and the top u can see the windward side and the airport, it was amazing and tiring. The hike was fun, we reached Manoa Falls about 30minutes, and went off to the side trail. Along the trail we encountered alot of muddy areas, vines, and bamboo trees. We got to see a face on a tree, sort of reminded of "Treebeard" from LOTR movie. Half way to the hike a light drizzle started to fall, then it stopped. I might add before I went to pick up the gang, I came from work and not having any lunch so basically dreaming of food, and I had a power bar in my bag, which I wish I brought with me, but didn't. I was getting exhausted, I felt light headed about 3/4ths of the hike, but I overcame, I am not gonna pass out doing a hike. Anyways, AP was ahead of Carlos and I, she was steaming foward, only obstacle that stopped her was the muddy part of the trail, but after that she just chugged along, with me behind huffing and puffing, [boy this hike really made me realize my age], and Carlos in the back. At the top man, the view was majestic, it was I remembered it the first time I was there, but it was sunnier the first time, we took some pictures, hung and rested at the top for about 15-20minutes. Then we shot like rockets going downhill mud splashing everywhere, breathing hard, and hunger setting in, but I kept going. 1/4th to the hike, it started rainning again, damn and it didn't lighten up, it was very huge drops also. So, AP picked up her pace and we behind her trying to keep up, man she is a hiker. Halfway to the hike I nearly fell off the edge was taking a step and one of my footing slipped and I was balancing, like a dude on a tightrope, that was a rush. Almost there as we hit the intersection where the flats and trail splits, rested and took a picture. Then we took off again, AP is fast. I was just afraid something might happen to her, but nothing she was like just floating on the trails avoiding all known obstacles. COOL! Anyways, we reached the bottom at a record 1 hour. We were exausthed and all, and ready to go home. I took the gang home at about 5:30ish, at the drop off; before I was about to leave and AP going to her dorm looked at me and asked "So where are we going to hike the next time?" I replied "Silly girl after this ordeal you still want to hike." She laughed and said "Off course." That's my fun day in a nutshell. Also, just to add I never walked so much in my life because the day before we walked from Ala Moana to Waikiki.[to be continued...]

[2004] Ho'olaule'a...

means a celebration. Well we surely celebrated by doing a walk from Ala Moana Shopping cntr. to Waikiki, I think its at least 2 miles. It didn't seems a long walk when you are accompanied with good people. Anways, took a friend of mines from Russia to the ho'olaule'a to listen to some food and eat some music :). Along the journey was a CO, AP, me, CO's sister, and Tanya who was AP's friend, then joined by SG and T, which they parted ways cuz they won a roundtrip to Nanakuli, after that we were joined by the one and only malasada man on this island. [did u know he dissapeared for about 10 minutes and came back with roses for the females, I was impress] Wow!! if Julie only knew. At the block party we listened to music from old school rock n roll where Tanya ROCKED OUT!!! the Russian way, falsetto music, some alternative rock, and hula dancing it was the best. Oh! I got to share an dip n dots with AP she's a cool gal. Took a picture at the Duke K. statue. Got drizzled on for a bit but nothing rained on our parade, Tanya was determined to get her milk shake. In a nutshell just a bunch of peeeps having fun, sampling some ALOHA, and lots of laughter.Ho'omana'o aloha, to remember with affection.[i sure will]

[A girl I knew from Michigan gave this to me awhile back and I keep it in my wallet at times to remind me. Thought I'd share it with you guys. Its called "Instructions for Life."]

Alas an End To a Good Romance....

How do I start? Maybe, by saying things happen for a reason. Which I firmly believe. My good friend just recently broken up with a good girl. I sort of feel bad because, I sort of introduced them. Today, I tried listening to my friend, I felt that he was reaching, but I couldn't find the right things to say. My best cliche' to hand him was "Hang in there." or was it "Go with the mini?" Told myself before that I would never say such stupid things, but here I was doing it. Because when I broke up with a previous girlfriend, I've heard all the dumbest cliches there is. But one person's comment stood up among ALL of them. He told me "That's Life." which is it. It sounds cold but its the cold hard truth which I admired. So in a nutshell my friend, from the wisest of wise I say to you "That's Life."

Where were you when 9/11 happened?

---My copy of 9/11/01---
Made this post to remember the thousands lost on that day where the world stood still with mixed emotions and that very same day changed every individual forever; reminding us that we to can be vulnerable anything. Where was I when 9/11 happened? It was about 5:12am(pst) just got up to get ready for work, part of my routine was to tuning to CNN news to check the weather on Texas. Where out of nowhere the news showed an airplane that crashed on the pentagon and firefighters was putting out the fire at first I thought it was a new movie trailer, after all it was 5am in the morning and I haven't got my coffee yet. After that scene, they cut to New York World Trade Center where they showed an airplane crashing into one of the Towers, then another plane hours later. After that reality set in and I was glued to the TV. As, I got into my car all radio stations was reporting about the tragedy. At work my staff had the TV already tuned into the news. All we talked or asked ourselves about the sad tragedies; was how could this have had happened? who's reponsible? how many people lost their lives? What are we going to do? On that day the tragic event left me stunned, helpless, saddened, and angry, some what confused, and numb. As I was heading home the radio played "Stuck on A Moment." :by U2. Well thats what happened to me during that day in a nutshell.

Money Hungry Bitches!!

Today I feel like venting. So here it goes. Went to work today and the first thing that served me was an envelope with a note in it.
It reads: [Name here] you should let us have a 24 hour notice that your not coming to work due to illness. If its car problem or other none illness related problem have a friend or a family member to drop you off or burrow a car, for this matter is inexcusable. Let this be a warning if further negligence should occur action shall be taken, most likely leading to termination.
Now tell me how fucking ridiculous is that?!! All I can say is thats fucked up. Anyways, a patient said "You should of catch a taxi, and have the clinic pay for it." which I will next time. Thats it in a fucked up nutshell.

untitled....

Just a Thought.
Opened the paper;
it read 156 children found dead.
Saddened and Maddened
How people can be so cruel.
thinking one religion is superior
while others are just fools.
So, taking innocent lives
justify your belief
Giving you peace of mind with
some form of relief.
Well,hope you sleep thinking
you've done right.
While others sleep with
empty beds at night.[-rudy Sept. 04']

The Gracious Host..

Me...
Takes care of the people who he is with no matter how bad the situation is. Well, took Anna and her friends out to go hiking to Manoa falls today. Was just hoping it would be just me and her, but as always why make life easy on Rudy?! Went to pick them up, at HPU windward campus, there she was accompanied with 2 guys, sort of put a damper but, I tried to make lemonades from lemons. As, they got into the car notice that the 2 guys aren't really involved with her, which was cool, so the day isn't going to be wasted after all. I also found out that she really loves nature and scenic place. This I found out by her taking about 10 shots with my camera (of huge trees, flowers, and the waterfall.) which I didn't mind. We stayed there about a good 2 hours, the 2 guys was at first fascinated, but the fascination soon lead to boredom, but as for AnnA she really enjoyed herself. Theres this one photo where she sits at the water fall just in a meditative trance. Which I secretly photographed and I found my favorite. As the time passed, it was time to go, Anna wanted to hike some more but, I've noticed that the skies was turning dark, and the time was drawing to dark. So, she asked if I could take her back to Manoa Falls, and take the side roads, I replied with a smile and say of course. The day end with me back in the starting position where I first picked them up. When I got home my car just made it before my water pump or one of the hose broke. Wow!! talk about this weird situation; my car could of broken down anytime but it chosed to breakdown in the end GOOD!! Job!! Betsy...[just remembered a thought that sums up the day] The Dalai Lama once said "The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater our own sense of well-being becomes." Still feeling empty there oh Dalai Lama. Anyways...thats my day in a nutshell.
[To be continued...........]

With the help of CO and AR, my momment was a lot less stressful and much more bearable. In a nut shell, friends are hard to come by and when it comes cherish it.Thank God for friends.
