Remembering the 80's.

Ok, I am up really early today and a thought came to me. I was just wondering who's your favorite 80's singer, band, or group? Oh for an added bonus can you think of a one hit wonder back then?

Well mines are for:
Band:
its a toss up U2 and Journey.
Singer:
again a toss up Old school Whitney Houston and Debbie Gibson.
Group:
The Go Go's
One hit wonder: Men without Hats "The Safety Dance."

You can Dance if you want to....

Mabuhay from the Philippines! I don't think I'll ever get over 80s music. Some of my favorites: My Ever Changing Moods by The Style Council, Thieves Are Us by New Order, of course there's Tears For Fears, Thompson Twins, The Cure, and Human League, among others. :)

Thank you for leaving a mark on my blog. Yep, Pisces and Scorpio are a classic match!

Band: U2
Singer: Cyndi Lauper (a perfect singer for those times...sometimes weird, sometimes wacky, sometimes wonderful, sometimes all three at the same time)
Group: Prince and the Revolution
One-Hit Wonder: "Come on Eileen" Dexys Midnight Runners (silly video and everything...I still crank this one when it comes on the radio)

You mentioned "You Can Dance if You Want To. For some reason I still love that video. Cyndi Lauper comes to mind because my then 4 year old would bounce around the house singing her songs. She also liked Corey Hart... go figure. I like Cheap Trick but I thought that I was the only one. Apparently not. ;)And pretty much any music that appeared on Miami Vice.

A Touch of Style :)

I loved that "Safety Dance" video. There was a similar Medieval one from Tenpole Tudor called "Wunderbar".

Wow, blast from the past.

Band: Probably the Bangles, I was all about "Walk Like an Egyptian"!

Singer: Debbie Gibson, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Idol

One-Hit Wonder: So many to choose from! "Rock Me Ammadeus" was fun. And "Come on Eileen."

They just don't write songs like that anymore :)

Aaah, remembering my teenage years...
I loved a lot of bands/singers back then: Journey, of course (for those slow dances) and Duran Duran was a favorite.

One hit wonder? Frankie Goes To Hollywood springs to mind. So Relax.

Pimme: Well, the Safety Dance was and still a cool song. You don't get dancing midgets, and medievil times clothes where people just skip and hop around throughout the video. Never heard of "Wundabar" video or song Pimme.
Dree: Oh Yes, how could I forget Rock Me Amadeus by Falco..I agree also they dont make song like they use too.
Aka_Monty: Yeps seems like Frankie goes to hollywood is a famous one-hit wonder.

Alice: yea it was Debbie Gibson who sang that. Oh Yea Surf's Always Up. :)

"Come on...Eileen, da doo rye aye, come on..."

Big fan of Billy Idol back then, ahhh, high school days.

Oh and on a totally distracted side note. I am loving the pics so much. I clicked on some tonight and before I knew it was crying, I miss it so much.

Stutter Rap (No Sleep Til Bedtime) was a trio of British comics who released a spoof single of Beastie Boys in mid-late '80's. So bad it was awesome....

Another one hit wonder: Remember the song I Wanna Be A Cowboy by some group called Boys Don't Cry (I think). I was super shite, but very 80s.
